My computer is stuck in a cycle of rebooting --->black screen offering to start up in safe mode, last known good configuration, or normally --->select any option --->reboot i have tried numerous fixes and discovered i am missing a file 'system32 drivers pci.sys' the literature online states to use the windows CD and run a repair on my computer however i do not have access to these CD's, i have downloaded the missing file on another computer however cannot find a way to install it into my other (broken) harddrive.

You may need to log in as the local administrator account on your machine to access the C: drive from the command prompt. Best of luck and happy hacking! Edited by Cyb3r_Ninj@, 21 November 2007 - 01:15 AM. Hey BUDAPEST, since that UBCD has a ton of uses, could you point me in a specific path out of all those tools to the one that will let me copy a file from my floppy drive to my harddrive path 'C: windows system32 drivers'. Also, i didnt make it clear, i have not seen a log-in screen since the computer initially crapped out, just the command prompt every once in awhile. BUDAPEST: do you think without the pci.sys i can completely format my C drive using the UCBD, that may be an option. THANKS SO MUCH •.
