At any time in 'hand mode' (pan & zoom mode), you can use the pen to annotate. To change color or thickness, hit the paint brush tool. Then here's the tricky part: annotate somewhere and hit 'save' to exist the brush tool (otherwise, hand strokes will paint).

Then go back to the hand tool with your new color, and you can resume panning, zooming, and annotating.which works like a charm. Also, the second pen button will erase as well (though I find the eraser too thick). It's a good app and I wish they'd update it. Also, check out the publish tool.

Believe it or not, you can actually have two or more people editing the same PDF simultaneously.via Xodo's html viewer, android app, iOS app, windows phone app, W8.1 app, or W10 app.and it actually works! You can see their annotations within seconds.

Great selling point for businesses, though for some reason the app is completely free. That being said, I realllllllyyyy wish OneNote would once-and-for-all just natively open, annotate, and save PDFs. Also, allow sharing to the cloud for simultaneous editing. Their current solution of inserting blurry images is garbage. Native editing would be a huge game changer for MS, and businesses would take serious notice.

I was just about to make a similar post. XODO(like how another person here mentioned) is the best so far. I had the exact same experience with drawboard. What's wrong with this developer? They have a 'bugs' complaint page on their website and the list is endless. Occasionally they reply to posts with solution or update notice. Drawboard is simply the buggiest and crappiest app I ever paid for.

I switched from ipad air to surface recently,(For digitizer and full PC experience) and I am bummed there isn't any smooth PDF annotators although this is the third iteration of surface. Xodo lags a bit very now and then but it has never randomly crashed on me like drawboard. If you are using xodo don't forget to hit the 'save,' button often or the annotations won't stay.

With hundreds of thousands of users, we do get a lot of feedback, and every bug is reviewed by our QA team, prioritised according to prevalence and our roadmap, and implemented into regular updates. Bugs are heavily dependant on an individual users' usage behaviour, device, environment and operating system, and we often are able to find and implement fixes to bugs as they arise on an individual basis. One of our latest releases, 4.0.0.0, hosted a plethora of fixes, which you can view over at.
